How To Get Out of 2020 and stay positive
2020 has been a terrible year? We must find something positive.
I completely lost my job, I couldn’t go out for more than 2 months, when I finally found a part-time job I realized It was just for a few months.
Despite all, I survived… and in a very positive way!
Would you like to know what happened later?
Government closed Campania Region again!
Too many covid-19 cases and a few hospitals to take care of all.
Two days to decide if we were red zone, yellow zone or orange zone… is this a joke? Unfortunately not!
So guys, after discovering that I am at home again, without a job, with a broken Iphone and lots of sunny days outside, I started using some positive methods of how to get out of a 2020 existential crisis.
Good News: This lock down is a bit easier, we can go out for a fitness workout. Thanks God I am not feeling like a prisoner into my own house (which is very comfortable though).
When you are out of your comfort zone you realize you are able to move on. You can’t make future plans, you can’t do what you like, you can’t see your family and friends every time but there’s an energy helping you to survive and you must release this energy.
How did I release this energy?
With Simple things and here are some suggestions (I hope it helps you too):
1.Make a Plan of Things to do
You have lots of free time you never had before and if you have nothing to do, It’ll end you’ll get bored and depressed. So try to find a plan of things to do and make a list.
2. Hiking Therapy
I know the Amalfi Coast has the best scenery in the entire World and I must consider myself lucky to live here, but hiking really helped me. it doesn’t matter whether you are in the most scenic place of the Heart or just in the Green Park close to your house. The most important is to walk!
It’s not only necessary for you stay fit but it really helps your mind to keep away bad thoughts and have happy dreams at night. Walking into Nature really helps because it improves your creativity, it strenghtens your body and mind and gives you positive energy.
Well… if you can’t do Hiking Therapy, you can try to stay fit at home by using different Apps such as
http://: https://www.kaylaitsines.com
At least those apps help you to stay fit and do some workouts.
I really missed traveling and my job. As a tour guide, my job is more like having a holiday on the Amalfi Coast with my customers and showing them hidden corners, describing the places with incredible stories. In a positive way I know we will travel again and I know maybe you need to get some inspiration for your next trip to Italy. So, I started making some short videos on my YouTube Channel:

Everybody knows The Amalfi Coast for its breathtaking landscapes. Many people know it for delicious food.
Many people have the idea of going to Capri by a private boat or Ferry. Getting to the beach is one of the best things to do while staying in Positano?
But there’s someone who loves hiking and relaxing. This can be possible because there’s a variety of paths. Those trails let you discover an off-the-beaten-path way of enjoying the Amalfi Coast.
Many people know Path of the Gods above Positano but many people ignore Valle delle Ferriere path (Paper-Mills Valley). This Path connects Nature with History of Our Glorious Maritime Republic. History made of people and tradings. Local merchants during Middle Ages produced a luxury and more sustainable paper made out of cotton, hemp and flax. Paper from Amalfi became so popular that was used for Manuscripts and letters all over Europe.
In Amalfi, just a few meters above the City Center, close to Canneto River there were Local Factories. Those Factories had wheels connected with wood machines who cut the fabrics. After a long process, workers finally produced the luxury “Carta d’Amalfi”. Factories were called Paper-mills as wheels were activated by the power of water.
Nowadays it is possible to hike into the valley and discover its treasures. It is not only a good opportunity to discover local History. It is also a relaxing walk where you reconnect with Nature. And there are lots of lemons!
I made a video which could be a great introduction about The Paper-Mills Valley Hike (Valle delle Ferriere):
We would be happy to bring you to Paper- Mills Valley. We really take care of our history and traditions and it is very important for us if you discover a place which is far from the crowds and bring you in a more intimate connection with Nature.
Walking around Positano in April and May
April and May are beautiful months here in Positano.
The weather becomes warmer but not so hot, clothes shops expose their new collections on display and the scent of linen blends with that of wisteria.
Everybody is happy for the beginning of new season and the Sirocco Wind gives to the town a magic atmosphere.
Everytime I guide my guests around Positano, I like bringing them into some neighborhoods where it’s difficult to see lots of tourists and very easy to find local people and interact with them. In this way the tour of Positano is not only a good idea to have an orientation of The town and to discover its history but it also becomes a unique experience. Local people, infact, love talking with tourists and telling them the stories of their lives.
Positano is also full of stairs and some of them are really vertical, but you don’t feel like a local if you don’t walk on (at least) 150 steps. And if you think that the stairs are just shortcuts, you are wrong: every stair hides a beautiful door, a cat on the roof, an incredible view… all good subjects for a great picture.
April is also the month to have the first gelato or the first granita of the season…
… and it’s strictly forbidden to leave Positano without having seen or tasted our lemons
or without having had a special cocktail
Are these good reasons to come to Positano in April/May?
And if you are here, are you ready to walk with me and to discover the beauties of my hometown?
Have a great day and cheers from Positano!

We always love it
Even if winter is not the best month to enjoy it, even if it’s complicated to reach.

Giancarlo Angeloni, a native-born of Bari, is a traveler and a realist painter observant on the human figure in the social context.
He moved to Positano for his love, the beautiful Roberta, and in 2006 opened an art gallery, Art & Craft, while painting the picturesque landscapes of the Amalfi Coast with oil or watercolor.
Located in Piazza del Saracino, close to the “Scalinatella”, the most popular stair of Positano, Art & Craft began a personal studio and art gallery whose purpose is to promote young artists and the various forms of art.
Giancarlo, with pleasantness and kindness, gladly welcomes the visitors and the lovers of the beautiful Positano, offering watercolors, sculptures, lamps and ceramics. His works, including the splendid views of Positano, are in museums and private collections around the world. Among the artists in his gallery there are Malacarne, Rotella, Diodati, Toraldo, Procopio, Pascali, Musante and Faccincani.

The Path of Sirenuse, so named for being the closest point to Li Galli Islands, also known as the Sirenuse or the Sirens archipelago, is a trail of about 8km in the Sorrento Peninsula, immersed in the Mediterranean nature and rich of historical and mythological references and breathtaking views of the two gulfs (Gulf of Naples and Gulf of Salerno).

It’s free and open under one’s own responsibility (common sense, shoes with non-slip sole, water, camera and desire to walk).
A walk from Nocelle to Arienzo (Positano)
- At January 30, 2014

The 1750 steps that link the lower to the upper side of Positano were used frequently until about 20 years ago.
As the other way to reach the center of Positano was by a path and a road (in total 4 km), people from Nocelle preferred to walk down (and up) the steps and most of the times they used to carry their shopping or other kind of goods by themselves.
Nowadays you can easily catch a bus to get to the lower side of Positano but if you don’t have problems with knees and legs I suggest to take the steps. It’s a good workout and you can enjoy a beautiful walk.
The first thing you see before walking down is the Church of Nocelle with a big square and an amazing view on Capri.
Then, there are zig zag stairs everywhere!
Between olive trees and prickly pears there are open spaces on the sea.
And you can’t get lost…there are lots of signs!
If you feel tired there’s a wooden bench where you can sit and relax.
From there you can admire the verticality of the coast.
After about 30 minutes you find houses and villas with beautiful gardens and cats. The black cat is “the cat of the gods”, do you remember my post about it?
You arrive at the district of Arienzo.
And… you can walk for 15 minutes to La Sponda, another district of Positano from where you can easily reach the main center and the beach.
