Sirocco wind warm the air, the sweet music of the waves, meet friends on the road…. winter here in Positano is not so bad!
Rain accompany us for few days, then sun again and, although they don’t swim, many locals go down to the beach, walking around and admiring the sea, at noon or at sunset, overwhelmed by the ever-changing landscape.
Positano in winter is pure poetry! In summer it is wonderful, in spring is pleasant but in winter is so special, perhaps because the sun’s rays seem to transport us into a country of the past, in a fairy tale, in a surreal painting that’s trying to hug us…
Local painters seem to grasp this strange atmosphere, I find them in the arena looking away, holding a magic brush that transforms illusion and reality. Their sensitive soul feels the energy of Positano, I would stay for hours watching them, trying to steal their views but I am distracted by a friend, the game of the boys or by the cries of hungry seagulls.
Winter brings back memories of the past, stories never really lived, that hover between the waves while the warm wind leave them whispering and soon sweep them away… they’ll come back in a month or maybe more, in the memory of a fisherman working his network, while some cats caress his boots.
Positano in Winter is an emotion not easy to describe, you should live it to understand my words.
